The Gates PoweRated series is the go-to solution for “problem” drives where standard belts frequently snap or roll over. The 4LK630A is constructed with aramid tensile cords (the same material used in bulletproof vests), which provides extraordinary strength and prevents the belt from elongating during the heavy “shock loads” typical of a mower deck hitting thick grass or a snowblower encountering a drift.
Unlike standard black rubber belts, this belt features a specialized low-friction wrapping that allows it to slip slightly during clutching engagement without burning or fraying. This “clutching” ability makes it ideal for mower deck drive systems. Additionally, the belt’s transverse rigidity prevents it from “dishing” or deforming under high tension, ensuring it stays deep in the pulley grooves even during heavy-duty operation.
